Internal Grants Programs Open for Applications

Author: Joanne Fahey

The Office of the Vice President for Research has opened its annual competition for faculty research grants. Currently there are two types of grants open for applications:

Faculty Research Support Initiation Grant Program: Provides seed funds to established faculty initiating new programs of research, scholarship, or creative endeavor and new faculty beginning their research programs. Proposals requesting support for ongoing research projects funded by another sponsor and/or projects in the final stages of completion are not appropriate.

Faculty Research Support Regular Grant Program: Provides funds to support outstanding research, scholarship, or creative expression that will make a major contribution in any field of study. With the exception of national fellowships, projects for which competitive funding is available from external sources are not suitable. Projects should lead to a significant outcome during the period of the award, and thus, the FRSP Regular Grant competition should not be viewed as a seed funding opportunity for the generation of preliminary results.

Applications are due Monday, October 27, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
