The University of Notre Dame’s Rome Global Gateway invites applications for short-term fellowships from graduate students and postdoctoral fellows whose work would benefit from conducting research in Rome. The initiative is co-sponsored by Notre Dame International, the Office of the Vice-President of Research, the College of Arts and Letters, and Italian Studies at Notre Dame.

  • Deadline: Applications welcome on a rolling basis; fellowships will be awarded until all available funding for academic year 2014-2015 is utilized.

  • Fellowship Range: Award amounts will range from $2500 to $5000.

  • Eligibility: Notre Dame graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in any discipline of the humanities, social sciences, or the sciences, who propose short-term research projects to be undertaken in Rome during academic year 2014-15 and summer of 2015.

  • Application Materials: Please send the following materials to Silvia Dall’Olio:

    •  C.V.

    • Project proposal of less than 750 words

    • Detailed budget, including any cost sharing from other sources, such as the ISLA Graduate Student Award, Zahm Travel Fund, or other departmental or graduate program funding

These fellowships are intended to support short-term periods of research in residence in Rome—ranging from one week to one month—and include office space in the Rome Global Gateway and some assistance with arranging housing. Again, all questions and submissions should be sent to Silvia Dall’Olio.
