As part of the Edison Lecture Series, on September 8, Notre Dame welcomed AT&T’s Chief Strategy Officer and Group President of Technology and Operations, John Donovan, to campus. Jointly sponsored by the College of Engineering and the Mendoza College of Business, Donovan gave a presentation on the “Intersection of Business & Technology.”
During his visit, Donovan met with Notre Dame’s Charles and Jill Fischer Provost, Thomas G. Burish, the Vice President for Research, Robert J. Bernhard, Chief Academic Digital Officer, Elliott Visconsi, Dean of Engineering Peter Kilpatrick, and Dean of Science Mary Galvin.
As part of Notre Dame’s collaboration with AT&T on the University’s new online master’s program in Data Science, Donovan also met with Steve Buechler, Professor of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics, Nitesh Chawla, Frank Freimann Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, and other faculty developers on the program. Offered by the Department of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics, Notre Dame's online M.S. in Data Science fosters analytical precision and creative problem-solving, with an emphasis on applied projects and case studies informed by exclusive industry insights.
