Five professors from law schools around the nation will be joining the Notre Dame faculty this year as visiting professors.
Kenworthey Bilz will visit from the University of Illinois, where her scholarship concentrates on how social psychological processes can inform the study of law, specifically in Criminal Law and Evidence. She will be teaching Evidence and a seminar on Race & Policing this fall.
Samuel L. Bray is professor of law at UCLA. He was a Harrington Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin for the 2016-17 year, and is the author of the textbook, “The Constitution of the United States.” Previously, he clerked for then-Judge Michael W. McConnell on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit, practiced law at Mayer Brown LLP, was an associate-in-law at Columbia Law School, and was executive director of the Constitutional Law Center at Stanford Law School. He will be visiting Notre Dame Law School both fall and spring semesters, teaching Civil Procedure in the fall and Remedies and a seminar in the spring.
Robin Effron visits from Brooklyn Law School, where she is professor of law and co-director of the Dennis J. Block Center for the Study of International Business Law. Previously, she was a fellow in the D.A.A.D. Program for International Lawyers in Germany and worked with attorneys in the legal department of a large investment bank to research questions of German and U.S. law. This fall she will be teaching Civil Procedure and International Sales.
Saura Masconale is an assistant professor in the School of Government and Public Policy at the University of Arizona. She practiced banking and finance law at the global law firm Clifford Chance prior to teaching law. This fall she will be teaching a course on Inequality, Efficiency & the Corporation.
Simone Sepe will visit from the University of Arizona, where he is professor of law and finance. Previously, he practiced banking and finance law at Clifford Chance, an international law firm based in London, and worked as an investment banker at Fortress Investment Group in London and New York. He holds two Ph.D. degrees, one in Law and Economics from the University of Siena and one in Economics from the Toulouse School of Economics. He earned his LL.M. and J.S.D. degrees at Yale Law School. This fall he will be teaching Business Associations at Notre Dame.
