An Age of Books

John Lukacs, the Hungarian-born historian of modern Europe, amassed almost 20,000 titles in his personal library over the decades of his academic career. This vast collection was gifted to the University of Notre Dame by Lukacs' family when he passed away in 2019, and now the Nanovic Institute, in collaboration with the Hesburgh Libraries, is home to a selection of those titles. Read more about the John Lukacs Collection at Nanovic, which offers a chance to "break bread" with a scholar who chronicled the past and agitated assumptions.
