Notre Dame is ranked #10 on College Factual’s 2023 Best Chemistry Doctor’s Degree Schools. A total of 113 colleges and universities were analyzed in determining the list.

College Factual bases their rankings on a number of parameters. The university must rank well in their Best Colleges for a Doctor’s Degree list, which considers multiple factors including graduation rates and educational resources. Average salary of doctorate graduates during the early years of their careers is also included, as well as number of students in the program, student debt, and money allocated per student.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Notre Dame is home to over 200 graduate students, advised by more than fifty faculty members. In 2022, researchers in the department held over $19.4 million in external research funding. With state-of-the-art facilities and world-class research projects, our students find success after graduation in academia, industry, and government careers.
