The University of Notre Dame’s Shankar Ganesan, the John Cardinal O'Hara, C.S.C. Chair of the Marketing Department at the Mendoza College of Business, has been recognized with two Lifetime Achievement Awards from the American Marketing Association (AMA).

In August, Ganesan was recognized with the AMA’s Retail and Pricing Special Interest Group (SIG) Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 AMA Summer Academic Conference. This award honors scholars who have contributed significantly to research in the field of retailing and/or pricing. Nominees were reviewed and selected by a panel of distinguished retailing scholars.

Additionally, AMA’s Interorganizational SIG honored Ganesan with their Lifetime Achievement Award. This award recognizes faculty and researchers that have made long-term and significant contributions to interorganizational research and sustained a record of research excellence.

Ganesan’s research interests include interorganizational relationships, customer relationship management, buyer-seller negotiations, service failure and recovery, product recalls and new product innovation. He has garnered more than 21,000 Google scholar citations and has an h-index of 25, according to the AMA. Previously, Ganesan received the AMA’s Louis W. Stern Award in 2018 and 2007, and he served as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Retailing.
