131 teams entered the McCloskey Competition last fall.  Now, after months of hard work by our participants, judges and mentors, 20 teams have been selected to advance to the semifinal round.

These 20 semifinalist teams will compete on campus on Thursday, April 20:  5-minute pitches by the semifinalists in the morning will determine the top 6-8 teams advancing to the final round in the afternoon. These finalists will also present in Jordan Auditorium on Friday, April 21 beginning at 1:30 pm at the McCloskey Business Plan Competition Final Event.  All awards will be announced at the end of this event. The final event April 21 is open to the public; we hope you will make plans to attend.

Our semifinalists include a great representation of those within the Notre Dame community, including graduate and undergraduate students, faculty members and alumni.  We are particularly pleased to see a significant increase in the number of students participating in the competition.  Every McCloskey team included students as an integral part of the business planning process.

We are grateful for the many individuals who have supported the competition.  More than 230 judges and mentors have evaluated these entries, providing valuable feedback and mentoring.  Their commitment of time and effort to support this important entrepreneurial event is invaluable and deeply appreciated.  More than 600 individuals have been involved in the McCloskey Competition this year, participating as team members, judges and mentors.  Clearly the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well at the University of Notre Dame!
