Prof. Nitesh Chawla Named 2022 IEEE Newly Elevated Fellow

Prof. Nitesh Chawla, founding Director of the Lucy Family Institute for Data and Society, has been named a 2022 Newly Elevated Fellow with the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for contributions to learning from imbalanced data and heterogeneous graphs.  In addition to this role, he is the Frank Freimann Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and the Director of Data Inference Analysis and Learning Lab. 

The achievement of IEEE Fellow is conferred by the Board of Directors upon a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. The total number selected in any one year does not exceed one-tenth of one percent of the total voting Institute membership.
