At the University of Notre Dame, the Center for Environmental Science and Technology (CEST) fosters interdisciplinary environmental research and education by providing cutting-edge analytical technologies needed to address national and international problems. CEST supports interdisciplinary environmental education, research, and stewardship through a variety of education and outreach activities.

Led by Director Jeremy Fein, professor of civil and environmental engineering and Earth sciences, CEST is a core facility that provides faculty and student researchers at Notre Dame and beyond access to analytical chemistry instrumentation. CEST also awards multiple semester-long fellowships for Notre Dame doctoral students in any area of environmental science or engineering.
