Iris joined the Freimann Life Science Center in April of 2022 as the Director and the campus Attending Veterinarian. Her role includes management of the personnel and facilities housing animals on campus and ensuring ongoing compliance with local, state and federal animal use regulations as well as maintaining a program that meets or exceeds current industry standards. Iris completed a tour in the US Navy prior to achieving her DVM from Purdue University in 1997, completing a residency in Primate Medicine and Surgery at the University of California - Davis in 1999, and achieving Diplomate status in the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine in 2005. Iris comes most recently from Lilly Research Laboratory in Indianapolis where she had held a similar role for the last 5 years.
