Biography
Jeremy Fein serves as the Director of the Center for Environmental Science and Technology (CEST). He is also a professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences at the University of Notre Dame. Jeremy's research focuses on geomicrobiology to determine the effects of bacteria on the fate and mobility of heavy metal and radionuclide contaminants in groundwater systems. The aim of his research is to derive thermodynamic and kinetic models that can account for reactions involving these metals under realistic geologic systems. Jeremy also examines the solubility of actinide-bearing mineral phases as a means to improve the predictive models for subsurface actinide transport.
