Biography

Kristina Davis joined the Center for Research Computing (CRC) in 2009 as its first visualization specialist and was appointed assistant director visual strategist in 2016. She works with research faculty to develop custom visuals to gain new insight from data, illustrate abstract concepts, and make technical subject matter accessible without sacrificing accuracy. Davis also works with CRC developers to design intuitive and inviting user interfaces. She completed her B.A. at the University of Richmond, her Ph.D. in chemistry at Vanderbilt University, specializing in biomolecular simulation, and her postdoc at Notre Dame, studying DNA dynamics. Before graduate school, she worked as a freelance artist, multimedia designer, and theatrical scene painter.
