eRA Dates and Milestones

The Electronic Research Administration (eRA) program will follow a structured approach to ensure a successful implementation.

The program will proceed through several phases:

  • Mid-2026 to November 2026: The NDRAC core program team and vendor teams have been working together to confirm scope, responsibilities, and the implementation plan.
  • December 2026: We will gather stakeholders together for an on-site program kickoff.
  • January 2027 - June 2030: We will engage in program implementation activities (e.g. discovery, build, testing, training and deployment) that support the go-live of new and improved tools and processes for Proposal Development and Submission, Grant and Agreement processing, Post-award Grants Management, Biosafety, Human and Animal Subjects, Research Security, Export Control, and Effort Reporting.
