Facility data managers have users, both internal and external, who likely have little to no training in data management or hands-on skills for doing data management. This session is for facility data managers to collaborate on central concepts that would be necessary for users to know and apply to their projects. The goal is to produce materials that would be a base which facility managers can use directly or customise for their facility and discipline. There are many tutorials already developed, many are aimed at either students or as a general reference in a university or academic context. The guides describe here would be aimed more toward working scientists with an eye toward brevity, practical suggestions, and references to other developed material where possible. A incomplete list of topics to be covered are: goals and non-goals of FAIR, curation of data, reproducibility is not the same as reuse, identifier assignment strategies, and tools that are useful for workflows.
