The University of Notre Dame’s Science of Wellness Initiative (SWI), which is an initiative of the Provost's Office, has announced the new Catalyst Seed Grant (CSG) Program. Full-time, regular Notre Dame faculty from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.
The CSG Program will provide funding to researchers to explore creative and diverse research opportunities in the science of wellness that have strong and near-term potential to develop into larger, externally funded research programs. Grants up to $80,000, as appropriate to each proposal, are available through the program.
In discussing the new initiative and grant program, Patrick Flynn, chair of the CSG task force and Duda Family Professor of Engineering, said, “The University has a rich tradition in health-related research and the SWI plans to build on and grow that legacy. To do so, the CSG aims to identify and fund research that enhances personalized and individual wellness and promote working partnerships to translate study results into better prevention, diagnosis, and treatments for a measurable impact. From the sciences to the humanities, business to architecture, and more, I encourage all eligible faculty members to consider applying for this new grant program.”
Faculty are invited to learn more about the SWI and CSG at an open interest meeting on Friday, August 24 at 3:00 p.m. in 310 Jordan Hall of Science. All interested applicants must submit an initial two-page concept paper by Friday, September 14 by 5:00 p.m. EST.
