Notre Dame's Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society strives to enable a positive impact on society and individual lives through innovative, domain-informed, and data-driven methods and applications. It is a place where all members of the ND family can use their knowledge to contribute to transformative interdisciplinary research that has a societal impact.
As part of their most recent initiatives, the Institute has provided funding to Notre Dame faculty, staff, and students to progress their mission. Proposals were submitted into one of four categories: Convening, Research Accelerator, Infrastructure & Services, and Partnerships.
Our very own Professors Ashlee Bird and Katherine Walden have been granted funding to develop a series of five interdisciplinary conversations titled “Data Poetics” to foster interdisciplinary conversations about the relationship of data science with pressing societal issues. They will be working alongside Matthew Kilbane, Ranjodh Singh Dhaliwal, and Scott B. Weingart.
