The Hesburgh Libraries held the second annual Year in Review celebration to recognize the many contributions made to the library profession over the last academic year by members of the Libraries’ faculty and staff.

In addition to strategic initiatives and research projects that benefit the academy, there is also a tremendous amount of original research and scholarship taking place to advance the library profession. Hesburgh Libraries’ faculty and staff collectively made over 130 contributions including authoring chapters and articles; serving as conference presenters, panelists and conveners, and serving in leadership roles in professional organizations.

Notable honorees included Tracy Bergstrom, director, Specialized Collection Services Program and curator of the Zahm Dante and Early Italian Imprints Collection, and Marsha Stevenson, visual arts librarian. Bergstrom received the University of Notre Dame’s 2019 Rev. Paul J. Foik Award. Stevenson received the Faculty Senate Service Award in recognition of her years of dedication and service to the University of Notre Dame Faculty Senate.

“This annual review highlights the many diverse professional contributions that happen in addition to supporting the research and study of students and faculty,” said Diane Parr Walker, Edward H. Arnold University Librarian. “It is an honor to celebrate the work that expands our professional expertise and influences the impact the library profession has on teaching and research.”
