The Notre Dame Law and Market Behavior Program has added two new faculty fellows, Associate Professors Patrick Corrigan and Maria Maciá.
Patrick Corrigan teaches in the areas of business law and securities regulation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from the University of Notre Dame, and a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He worked in Washington, D.C., for the newly created Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and then earned his J.D. from NYU School of Law, where he won the Law and Economics Prize and another prize for the best note in the NYU Journal of Legislation & Public Policy. Before coming to Notre Dame, Corrigan practiced in the corporate group at Sullivan & Cromwell and then returned to NYU as the Leonard Wagner Fellow in Law & Business, a joint venture of the law school and business school at NYU.
Maria Maciá is an economist whose research considers the regulation of corporations and valuation issues through an empirical approach. She first joined the Law School faculty as a visiting assistant professor during the 2019-2020 school year. After earning her B.A. from Swarthmore College, she worked as an associate with the economic consulting firm Charles River Associates, where she analyzed the economic issues raised by competition litigation and proposed mergers. She then earned both a J.D. and a Ph.D. in economics at the University of Chicago, and most recently served as a judicial clerk for Judge Andrew Hurwitz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She teaches corporate finance.
