NDTL Director Joshua D. Cameron has been named a member of the Michiana Forty Under 40 Class of 2017 by the South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce. According to the regional chamber’s website, “Michiana Forty under 40 recognizes 40 regional business and professional leaders who have achieved success before the age of 40. This recognition shines the spotlight on 40 of the area’s most talented and dedicated young executives, professionals and leaders who demonstrate career success and community engagement.” Cameron and the other honorees will be recognized at a luncheon and profiled in the South Bend Tribune in May.

As Director of NDTL, Cameron has managed the design and construction of a $36M world-class gas turbine component testing and research facility in downtown South Bend, IN where he currently oversees the operation of four turbomachinery test cells, manages annual research expenditures, and develops the long-term vision and plan for NDTL’s growth and education mission; he continues to manage and direct three testing facilities on the Notre Dame campus. As a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame, Cameron serves on doctoral committees and co-directs Ph.D. candidates
and undergraduate research students. His commitment to education extends to the local community. NDTL has hosted presentations, visits, and lab tours for middle school and high school aged students. This summer, NDTL will collaborate with and participate in STARBASE Indiana South Bend STEAM Summer Camps for 5th-8th graders.

“I would like to thank each member of the NDTL team,” said Cameron. “This award is not a recognition of me but of the impact that NDTL is having on the community, an impact that is realized every day through the hard work and dedication of the lab’s highly skilled staff.”
