Biography

Brandon Welsch is the lead graphic designer at the IDEA Center's Innovation Lab. In this role, he specializes in brand identity, as well as applied graphical projects using various printing technologies (e.g., UV, vinyl, laser engraving).

Welsch is passionate about enhancing designs for startup and product development clients of the Lab by using his unique blend of creativity, technical expertise, and empathy.

Welsch holds a B.A. from IU South Bend and studied art and design in Florence, Italy at Santa Reparata International School of Art. He is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of designers and believes in championing others and sharing knowledge freely.

He has taught design workshops and given talks on branding, sustainability, and creative problem-solving, inspiring designers and entrepreneurs alike.

Before joining Notre Dame, Welsch worked at IU South Bend’s Center for a Sustainable Future. His entrepreneurial background includes co-founding a web design agency, a production company, running a pizzeria franchise, and most recently co-founding a six-figure souvenir and gift manufacturing business called The Nostalgia Company.
