Hoon Lee

Biography

Dr. Hoon Lee joined the Notre Dame Radiation Laboratory (NDRL) in 2019 as a Scientific Computer Engineer. In this role, he develops computer programs supporting accelerator and scientific instrument operations while conducting research in radiation chemistry and computational physics. Concurrently with his staff responsibilities at NDRL, he earned his Ph.D. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 2026. He previously received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Hanyang University and his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Prior to joining Notre Dame, Hoon spent 15 years in advanced automotive engineering and clean transportation technologies across research, industry, and academia.
