Faculty are invited to apply for the annual Library Acquisitions grant program, which is part of Notre Dame Research’s (NDR) internal grants program. The Library Acquisitions (LA) grant program is designed to provide University resources to fund library acquisitions in support of research, scholarship, and creative endeavor at the University of Notre Dame.

Speaking about the available opportunity, Patricia L. Clark, associate vice president for research, Rev. John Cardinal Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and director of the Biophysics Instrumentation Core Facility, said, “Enhancing the University’s collections in key areas is essential to maintaining a vibrant culture of research at Notre Dame. We in NDR are thrilled to again offer this opportunity to help augment the already-strong Hesburgh Libraries collections and I encourage faculty from across the Colleges and Schools to explore the opportunity and put forward a proposal.”

This program is not meant to replace the normal means of enhancing the library’s collections but to provide a means of responding to unique opportunities or challenges. Collection materials requested may be in print, digital, electronic, or other formats. It is expected that requests will normally be in the range between $25,000 and $150,000. Cost share with other units is desirable.

All full-time Notre Dame faculty members, including tenured and tenure track faculty, teaching and research faculty, library faculty, and professors of the practice, who have not received an award as the lead principal investigator of a funded project under this program in the last five years may submit a proposal. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Eastern on Monday, March 14, 2022.
