Biography

Carrie is responsible for managing and maintaining the University of Notre Dame’s patent portfolio. Carrie works with other members of the IDEA Center staff, outside patent counsel, inventors and licensees to develop and implement intellectual property strategies for University developed inventions. Carrie manages outside counsel and service providers to ensure the timely filing, prosecution and maintenance of patent applications for the University and ensures accurate records of patent prosecution activities are maintained.

Carrie started with the IDEA Center in August of 2023 and brings to the Intellectual Property Program Manager role, 5 years of corporate experience as the Intellectual Property Manager for POET. In addition to her intellectual property experience, Carrie has over 15 years of project and program management experience in industry and finance. Prior to the shift to business administration work, Carrie started her career working in the lab in industry and government.

Carrie holds a current Project Management Professional Certification, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Sioux Falls, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Florida Institute of Technology and an Associate in Applied Science in Horticulture Technology from Southeast Technical Institute.
