Notre Dame Research Administration supports the University research community on the use of more than 100 different internal and external software systems used for proposal and award activities.
Internal and External System Support
Notre Dame Research Administration is experienced with using many types of external systems used in proposal and award activities and is available to provide support on systems related to submitting a proposal or managing a grant, including grants.gov, research.gov, and more.
Cayuse is the University’s system of record for research administration and is used in proposal preparation, routing, and submission of grants, as well as award management. Its database includes all submitted proposals and awards from July 2008 onwards, as well as preceding awards for related projects.
Notre Dame principal investigators can log into Cayuse (using a Notre Dame NetID and password) in order to securely enter information about research subjects, intellectual property, export control, and conflict of interest.
The research team can review and confirm the proposal is ready for submission, as well as review information at the award stage. Chairs, Deans, Directors, and other University leadership can use Cayuse to review and authorize proposals within the relevant College, School, Department, Center, or Institute, while Business Managers, with approval, can also gain access to review relevant proposal and awards.
Research Activity Reporting
Notre Dame Research Administration can prepare tailored reports on research proposals, awards, or expenditures.
